New Delhi: Chairman N K Singh and the Members of Fifteenth Finance Commission will hold a day-long meeting with the Economic Advisory Council of the Commission tomorrow.
The meeting is for a “Final discussion on GDP growth, tax buoyancy of the Centre and the States, GST compensation, revenue deficit grant and fiscal consolidation”, an official statement said.
Notably, the meeting will be held in the backdrop of rising expenditure to support lives and livelihood amid COVID-19 pandemic.
The Centre has already exceeded the full-year fiscal deficit target. The fiscal deficit reached Rs 8.21 lakh crore for April-July period, which is 103 per cent of the 2020-21 budget estimates of Rs 7.96 lakh crore, compared to 77.8 per cent for the same period last year.
