Cuttack: Effective implementation of Mo Sarkar programme in police department is his top most priority, said 1986 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Abhay after taking charge as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha at Police Headquarter here on Monday.
Speaking to media after assuming the new assignment , the DGP said that his main priority will be to ensure effective implementation of Mo Sarkar programme and 5T initiative in policing.
The police will ensure that complainants visiting police station get better services from the cops, Abhay said.
He further said that offences against women and weaker sections will remain in the focus with best investigation and fast conviction.
The new DGP was given a guard of honour in the police headquarters in the presence of top brass of Odisha police.
The Odisha government had on November 20 appointed Abhay as the DGP.
Prior to assuming the new role, he was serving as the Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
