Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal leader and 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian has started campaigning for the BJD in Bissam Cuttack and Gunupur constituencies for the ensuing general elections in Rayagada district.
Over thousands of people attended the meeting and gave a rousing welcome to Pandian.
Pandian has appealed to the people to ensure a landslide victory for the BJD candidates in Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.
Coming down heavily on the oppositions in his speech, the senior BJD leader said that seeing the enthusiasm of people and their massive presence, the oppositions are having sleepless nights.
They (opposition leaders) are shedding crocodile tears for the people. During the elections, they talk sweetly and they disappear after the election is over. They have not done any good work for Odisha, Pandian said.
While lakhs of people are getting healthcare services under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, the oppositions are conspiring to stop it. They can’t even tolerate the Mission Shakti programmes and want to stop that too. The people will give them a befitting reply. There is an MP from another party here. No one knows what he has done in the last five years, Pandian said while calling the people to extend their supports to the BJD candidates in both the Assembly and the Lok Sabha seats in the coming elections.
BJD MP candidate Kausalya Hikaka, Bissam Cuttack MLA candidate Jagannath Saraka, Gunupur MLA candidate Raghunath Gamang and several senior BJD leaders also addressed the people.
