Elections 2024: Naveen Addresses Public Meeting at Keonjhar, Seeks Support for BJD

Keonjhar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today addressed a huge gathering at Gopinathpur in Keonjhar district and appealed the voters to vote for the Biju Janata Dal candidates in the coming Assembly and General elections.

He reiterated the Biju Janata Dal’s commitment for the development of Odisha and particularly Keonjhar. He asked the people about the various welfare schemes of the government and assured that there will be no electricity bills from July. He also said that the opposition leaders are telling lies and shedding crocodile tears.

Speaking at the meeting, senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian said that all of the major development initiatives like Dharanidhar Medical College, Dharanidhar University, Government Engineering College etc., have been done by the Naveen led government. He also said that the Kanpur Irrigation Project worth Rs 250 crore, Anandpur Barrage project worth Rs 3500 crore, Joda flyover project worth Rs 260 crore, Tarini Temple transformation work worth Rs 50 crore, Deo Irrigation Project worth 1250 Crore have been undertaken by the government for the welfare of the people. He also reiterated that the beloved Chief Minister loved the tribals very much. Their identity is their Art and Culture. For them, our Chief Minister has set up Special Development Councils. He also said that the Chief Minister had ordered for withdrawal of more than 50,000 cases against the adibasis. Our Chief Minister always stands behind you, Pandian said amidst huge cheers.

The Chief Minister has made profit schemes to help you get good price for your forest produce. Nobody can cheat you now. Thousands of hostels have been built where lakhs of Adibasi students from across the state are getting free modern education.

Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, Kartik Pandian said, many CMs are coming from outside to Odisha. Assam Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh CM etc., are coming to Odisha. Ask them how many girl students are staying in their hostels. Have they set up SDCs in their state. They are not doing anything and giving big speeches here. They are speaking about our beloved Chief Minister in derogatory language and insulting him. You will give them the right answers, he said to the huge gathering.

In 2014, the BJP had promised to reduce prices of essential items once they come to power. Did they do that? Did the price of petrol reduced? Did the price of LPG cylinder got reduced? They did nothing and now coming to you to ask for votes and telling lies. He again reminded that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will again take oath on the 9th of June and the first file he will sign will be that of the electricity bill waiver. The second file he will sign will be on BSKY for all. The third signature will be on the file related to pension for Mission Shakti members. He also reminded the people that the BJP is showing lanterns to them in the daytime in the name of giving free solar electricity.
