Bhubaneswar: A retired police officer in Kandhamal district has been convicted to three years imprisonment in a bribery case, the Odisha Vigilance informed.
The retired cop has been identified as Haribandhu Parida, Ex I/C IIC (Retd), Chakapada Police Station, Kandhamal.
Parida, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for taking bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complaint to not implicate him in a case, was convicted to three years jail and fine.
Odisha Vigilance further said that it will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Parida following his conviction.
