Angul: Continuing its efforts to bring in wholesome development of High Schools under 5T Initiatives, the Angul administration has identified 50 schools to transform them into state of the art learning centers. The campaign, under the aegis of High School Transformation Program that is being directly supervised by V K Pandian, Secretary 5T Initiatives, intends to convert the high schools by developing them into model schools having all modern facilities such as e-library, Smart Classrooms, Science Laboratories, sports facilities, reading rooms and above all a conducive study environment.
Angul is the newest district that has become a part of this campaign that envisions a long term and continuous improvement of the high schools. The ambitious program was launched in the district by V K Pandian, Secretary 5T Initiatives Saturday in a special program organized virtually. On the occasion, Pandian interacted with the headmasters, alumni, PRI members, students and the civil society members and advised them to work in a Community driven approach to ensure proper planning and flawless execution of the School Transformation Program. He also motivated the students to aspire high and achieve their dreams. Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain and other higher officials were also present.
According to Siddharth Shankar Swain, Collector, Angul, “the aim is to provide state of the art educational environment to the students. The transformation process is being carried out as part of the Chief Minister’s vision for the students. While fifty schools have been identified I the first phase, in the coming days many more will be added to this.”
All members present on the occasion appreciated the 5T Initiative and also thanked the Chief Minister for the historic decision of 15 percent reservations of seats in Engineering & Medical for students educated in Government Schools. A vision document for the district and each school was also launched on the occasion.
