Chatrapur: With a view to ensure strict social distancing and isolation measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Ganjam district administration has issued the additional guidelines in the better interest of the public.
Guidelines for Social Distancing
1 As per the directions of the Orissa High Court, two wheeler vehicles shall be permitted only for senior citizens without any pillion rider.
2. No persons shall be allowed to walk in groups of two or more people.
3. Spitting in public places shall be prohibited and violators will be levied a fine of upto Rs.500.
4. As per the guidelines of the State Government, masks in the form of homemade mask, handkerchief, gamucha shall be made compulsory to cover the mouth and nose as these are the main entry points for the virus. Violators will be levied a fine of Rs 200.
5. It is necessary for everyone to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters between each other at all times.
Guidelines for Social Distancing in Grocery Shops, Vegetable & Fruit Shops
1 All shopkeepers and vendors shall ensure gloves and masks during the business hours
2. Boards with the phrase ‘No Mask No Grocery/ vegetables/Medicines/Fruits’ shall be ensured in all shops.
3.All shopkeepers and vendors shall ensure Circles or Boxes on the ground with a distance of minimum 1 meter to ensure social distancing
4. All shopkeepers and vendors shall ensure Hand wash / Soap/ Sanitizer for the customers.
5. All vegetable and fruit vendors shall ensure a distance of minimum 10 meters between one another.
6. No sale of ghutuka, paan, chewing gum and any food items promoting spitting shall be permitted during the lockdown period.
Guidelines for Social Distancing in Meat Shops
1. Only meat shops permitted by the ULBs and Gram Panchayats shall be allowed to operate during the lockdown period
2 Any shop operating over an encroached area shall be prohibited
3 The shopkeeper shall ensure hygiene and cleanliness of the shop and deviation shall result in closure and sealing of the shop.
4. The shopkeepers shall also follow other guidelines issued for grocery shops as mentioned above.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange urged the officials to take necessary steps for the implementation of additional guidelines for ensuing social distancing during the second phase of lockdown.
