Bhubaneswar: The nomination process for the first phase Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha came to an end yesterday. In total, 75 nominations have been filed for the four Lok Sabha Constituencies. While, 20 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the Kalahandi parliamentary constituency, 21 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the Koraput Lok Sabha seat. 24 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the Berhampur Lok Sabha seat. A total of 10 candidates have filed nomination papers for the Nabarangpur Parliamentary Constituency.
For the 28 Assembly Seats that will go for elections in the first phase, 483 Nomination papers have submitted. A maximum of 30 candidates have filed their nomination papers from Berhampur. Likewise, 26 candidates have filed papers for Digapahandi, 23 for Chitrakonda and 22 for Rayagada Constituency. The verification of the nomination papers will be held today. 29th April is the last date for withdrawal of candidature. The first phase of voting will be held in Odisha on May 13th.
