Bhubaneswar: In the wake of enhanced public awareness regarding Fire Safety norms and continued endeavour of the Government to ensure Fire Safety in all types of buildings/occupancies, the whole process of regarding fire safety norms and safety certificate will come under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative from January 1, 2020.
The whole process will also be covered under Mo Sarkar from January 1 next year to take random citizen feedback on service delivery, an official statement said.
The Odisha Government has also decided that the whole process of obtaining fire safety certificates and fire recommendations would be made online and best of practices will be implemented from 1st April, 2020 as part of 5T charter of Governance.
The government has further decentralized to the field level officials the power of issuing Fire Safety recommendations and certificates.
This will also enable the Government to realize one of its major objective of ease of liveability/ doing business and also meet hassel free service delivery under the 5T initiatives of governance, an official statement said.
The new reforms will ensure that applicant need not come to the Directorate of Fire Services from far off areas to obtain the fire safety recommendations and Fire Safety certificate.
The field level officials will issue such certificates expeditiously after following the procedural formalities. As per the new norms, fire safety certificates will be issued within IS days of receipt of application. This move of the Government will bring about a radical improvement in the process of obtaining fire safety certificates.
