Bhubaneswar: The first flight from Dubai to Bhubaneswar has taken off today marking a dawn of new era of international air connectivity in Odisha.
In a social media post, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian wrote, “Jai Jagannath and the first flight takes off from Dubai to Bhubaneswar”.
The direct flight services between Bhubaneswar and Dubai will open the gateway to the Gulf, Europe, & Western countries making world tour accessible and affordable for the people of Odisha. This will open up tourism potential of Odisha & help Odia youth explore job opportunities.
Odisha is the first state in India to support int’l air connectivity. The flights, to be operationalised by IndiGo, will open a whole new world of opportunities for Odias, Chief Minister
The direct flight service will be available thrice a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The price of a ticket for the round trip has been fixed at 20,000. A one-way flight ticket will cost Rs 10,000.
