Bhubaneswar: The first Omicron patient has recovered from the virus in Odisha and has been discharged from the hospital on Monday.
The patient, who was admitted in a hospital in Cuttack on December 17 after testing positive for Covid-19’s Omicron variant, has been discharged following the successful treatment. He had returned from Nigeria.
The swab sample of the patient was tested twice during the last 24 hours and on both the occasions, his reports came negative for COVID-19.
Director of Public Health Niranjan Mishra informed that the health condition of other Omicron patients is stable.
Among the foreign returnees, only 18 have tested Covid positive, of them, eight have tested positive for Omicron variant.
While one of them has already recovered, the other’s health condition is stable, he said.
The recovered person has been advised to stay in isolation for a period of seven days, he added.
