Bhubaneswar: Six persons including former IAS officer Vinod Kumar have been sentenced to three years in jail in connection with ORHDC loan scam by a special vigilance court here on Monday.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of the convicted persons, defaulting which they will have to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months, as per reports.
Besides Vinod Kumar, Swosti Ranjan Mohapatra, Pradeep Kumar Rout, Pradeep Kumar Rout, Jnanendra Swain and Manoranjan Nayak have been sentenced to jail.
Vinod Kumar has already been convicted in five other cases. He was the Managing Director of Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation from 2000 to 2001. During his tenure, a housing loan of Rs 21.35 lakh was allegedly provided to Rashmi Mass Construction Pvt. Ltd on fraudulent documents.
