Bhubaneswar: Basanti Mallick, a former MLA from Mohana Assembly Constituency in Gajapati district, joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal on Tuesday.
She joined the BJD at Sankha Bhawan in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra.
Welcoming the former MLA to the BJD fold, Patra said that her joining will play an instrumental role in further strengthening the organizational base of the party in Gajapati district, especially in Mohana constituency.
In her response, Basanti Mallick expressed that she joined the BJD for being inspired by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s strong leadership, good governance and people-centric transformative programs.
