Sambalpur: The foundation stone for the construction of a state-of-the-art Utility Complex was laid today in the Amruta Vihar campus of the Gangadhar Meher University.
Vice Chancellor Prof. N. Nagaraju laid the foundation stone in the presence of the Registrar Jugaleswari Dash, Deputy Registrar Dr. Uma Charan Pati and the Chairman PG Council Prof. Mohin Mohammed.
The Utility Complex will be constructed by the Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
The Project Manager Er. Mohan Kumar, SDO Arjun Sahu and other officers of the police corporation were present along with the staff of GMU at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
The Utility Complex is a multi facility centre being constructed under the financial support of the government of Odisha. R. 4.35 crore has been sanctioned by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha.
The Utility Complex will be a three -storey building housing Bank, post office, ATMs, Gymnasium, Food Court, student recreation center , student common room, staff club, alumni room along with space for shops and daily needs of students and staff. This project is expected to be completed by November, 2022 for the benefit of all stakeholders of GMU.
