Paris: American player and 2020 Australian Open winner Sofia Kenin will clash with Polish teenager Iga Świątek in the Women’s Singles final of French Open today.
21-year-old Kenin defeated Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday to enter the final. 54th-ranked Świątek is the first Polish woman to reach the French Open final after defeating Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska 6-2, 6-1 in the semis.
Iga Świątek, 19-year-old teenager from Poland has created history by being the first Polish woman to reach the finals of the Roland Garros. She is also the lowest-ranked women’s finalist at Roland Garros since the WTA computer rankings began in 1975. Sofia Kenin, 4th seed at the French Open 2020 reached her 2nd Grandslam final in 2020.
Świątek will face Sofia Kenin in the much awaited final of the Roland Garros today.
