New Delhi: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has restricted the sale of junk and unhealthy food in the canteens of the schools and other educational institutions.
The move aims at ensuring safe and wholesome food for the school-going children.
The country’s top food regulator has also banned the sale and advertisement of unhealthy food within 50 metres of the school premises.
It is also bringing new principle regulations under the Food Safety and Standard Act which aims to provide a safe, nutritious and healthy diet for the school-going children, according to reports.
