New Delhi: Gairsain town also known as Bhararisain in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand was officially declared as the new summer capital of the State.
Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Monday gave assent to declaring Gairsain as the new summer capital of the hilly state.
“The Governor is hereby pleased to give her assent for declaration of Bhararisen (Gairsain) district Chamoli as the summer capital of Uttarakhand state,” an official notification said.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had first made the announcement of the summer capital on March 4.
