Bhubaneswar: Gajapati SP Sarah Sharma won the ‘SKOCH Order of Merit’ award for her outstanding works in response to COVID-19 pandemic situation in Gajapati District.
Sharma, who had recently hit the headlines after she adopted a village named Sindibur in Gumma block of Gajapati district, made a presentation on various steps taken by the office of Superintendent of Police in response to the corona pandemic situation in the district and won the prestigious award.
The SKOCH Award, instituted in 2003, is the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organisation. It recognizes people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make the nation better.
