Berhampur: As many as 46 under-trial prisoners at Berhampur Circle Jail in Odisha’s Ganjam district have tested positive for COVID-19.
The swab samples of 84 inmates of the jail were sent for RT-PCR test two days ago, out of which 46 samples came positive, according to the jail authorities.
The Berhampur Circle Jail has 927 under-trial prisoners.
Meanwhile, the prisoners, who tested positive for the virus, have been admitted to the newly set up 100-bed dedicated COVID Care Centre inside the jail premises.
