Berhampur: Bringing laurels to the State, Ganjam district has bagged as many as six national panchayat awards 2021, announced by the Central Government, in different categories.
Two blocks – Hinjilicut and Seragada and four gram panchayats – Badakhandi, Ramachandrapur, Adapada and Badaborasingi have received the prestigious awards for their good performance even in COVID-19 pandemic.
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP) awards have been conferred to Hinjilicut Block, Seragada Block, Badakhandi GP and Ramachandrapur GP.
The DDUPSP award is given to best performing blocks and panchayats in recognition of the good work at each level for improving delivery of services and public goods.
Adapada GP has bagged the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar 2021 (NDRGGSP) for its outstanding contribution to the socio-economic development in the area.
The Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) has been given to Badaborasingi GP for adopting child-friendly practices.
