Berhampur: Ganjam Collector Vijay Amrita Kulange made a surprise visit to City Hospital here today to review the implementation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s newly launched ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.
The Collector inspected different wards and interacted with the patients and their attendants regarding the delivery of healthcare services.
He enquired about the amenities and infrastructure facilities in the hospital and implementation of various government schemes and programmes including ‘Niramaya’ scheme.
Besides, Kulange also checked the attendance of the medical staff.
During his visit, the Collector inspected two private medical stores running on the premise of City Hospital and imposed penalties following the recovery of polythene carry bags from the stores, sources said.
The top official also checked the documents of the medical shops and said that legal steps would be taken for their closure, sources said.
Talking to The Newsroom.co.in, Kulange said that efforts will be made for further development of infrastructure facilities in City Hospital.
He also assured that the steps will be taken to address doctor shortage problem.
Meanwhile, the district administration is also conducting surprise inspections at block level hospitals to review delivery of healthcare services to the patients.
