Bhubaneswar: Further strengthening Odisha’s efforts in fight against coronavirus, COVID-19 testing has begun at Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur (MKCG MCH) in Ganjam District.
This has been informed by the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department.
“Happy to share that COVID-19 testing started at MKCG Medical College and Hospital yesterday after fully complying with all technical protocols”, the department tweeted.
The Health department further said that laboratory development and equipment installation work is going on in full swing at VIMSAR for commencing testing at the earliest.
Earlier, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi has approved the MKCG MCH to carry out COVID-19 testing.
MKCG has become the second medical college hospital in the State after SCB MCH to get the approval to do COVID-19 testing.
Now, the total number of COVID-19 testing facility in the State rose to four. The other three testing facilities are RMRC Bhubaneswar, SCBMCH in Cuttack and AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
