Berhampur: The Berhampur Police on Monday busted a gambling den in the city and detained 21 gamblers.
Acting on a tip-off, the Baidyanathpur Police raided the gambling den inside a house near Baribandh Ganesh Nagar area in Ankuli and apprehended 21 persons.
The police also seized Rs 4,99,420 cash, nine motor cycles, 23 mobile phones and five playing card packets from the spot.
The accused persons have been identified as Mahendra Badatiya , Sudeswar Das , Musthapha Khan , S.M. Hassen Alli , P. Ramesh , Kdrushna Chandra Sethi , D. Tulsi Krushan , Mithun Behera , Bipin Sethi , Rabindra Behera , Bijaya Patra , B.Durga , Keshab Sahany , Rabindra Maharana , Sarat Ch . Bisoyi , Radhamohan Das , S.jagadish Rao , P.Basant Kumar , K.Jagannath Patra , Tapan Sahu and Sunil Sahu .
A case has been registered against the accused and the further investigation is going on, the police informed.
