Berhampur: More than one lakh people have undergone screening under the ‘Oxygen Checking Campaign’ in a single day in Ganjam district.
The Ganjam administration started the door-to-door ‘Oxygen Checking Campaign’ throughout the district on September 8 in order to prevent a possible second wave of COVID-19 infection in the district.
As many as 1, 17,560 persons were screened across the district on Day 1 of the campaign, informed Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Wednesday.
Frontline COVID warriors are also ensuring IEC activities as a part of the campaign, he added.
Of the persons screened, 43 persons have been found to have very low oxygen saturation level (SpO2) and are under medical supervision.
The campaign will continue till September 14.
The campaign is being organized in all blocks, NACs and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area in the district.
Persons with very low SpO2 levels (below 92%) will be immediately referred to a Dedicated COVID Hospital and persons with SpO2 levels between 92-95% will be referred to the Dedicated COVID Health Centre, the district admin had said earlier.
