Berhampur: Despite the best efforts of the Ganjam District administration and the Police to bring in an amicable solution to the opposition to Chemical Factory at Kalipalli, the villagers are in no mood to withdraw.
Notwithstanding Court directives for beginning of construction work, the villagers are continuing protests at the site. As the protests continue and the construction works getting obstructed, the Chamakhandi Police has issued notices to 53 persons under Section CRPC 107. This comes after the District Administration failed to convince the villagers by organizing several tripartite meetings. Those issued the notices include labour union leader Shankar Das and several others.
The Police has warned of stringent action in case of any law and order situation in the village. The Administration has also tried to make aware the villagers about the merits of the Chemical factory that is being set up inside the Tata SEZ by Dipak Fertilizers.
