Bhubaneswar: Bringing laurels to the State, Ganjam district has received the 4th National Water Award in the Best District category for its exemplary works and efforts in the field of water resource management and conservation.
Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida has received the prestigious award from Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at a function organised at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi by the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD &GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The award has been conferred to Ganjam district for its outstanding achievement in augmenting irrigation potential, drainage and river rejuvenation, soil conservation and watershed management, plantation, water supply, conservation and treatment of waste water, climate resilience initiatives and other district level initiatives.
CDO-cum-Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Keerthi Vasan V was present on the occasion.
