Bhubaneswar: Here is some good news for train passengers. The Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the frequency of 18117/18117 Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express from 6 days a week to daily.
The decision was taken for the convenience of passengers and demand from the public, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said.
Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express will run daily from 28th December from Rourkela and 29th December from Gunupur.
The timings and stoppages for this train at various scheduled Stations will remain the same as mentioned in Time Table.
Earlier, the Rajyarani Express was introduced as a tri-weekly Express between Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar in November 2011 and later extended to Rourkela in July 2012.
This Train was further extended up to Gunupur on 20th March 2017 via Paralakhemundi connecting important cities between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar directly with Gajapati and Rayagada districts.
From March 2019, the frequency of Rajyarani Express was increased from tri-weekly to 6 days in a week.
This train is leaving Rourkela at 2120hrs and arriving at Gunupur at 1335hrs on the following day. In the return direction, this train leaves Gunupur at 1515hrs and reaches at Rourkela at 0800hrs on the next day.
Now, this train is running with 14 Coaches that includes One AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier, Four Sleeper Class, Five Second Class Seating and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans having stoppages at Kansbahal, Rajgangpur, Garposh, Bamra, Bagdih, Jharsuguda, Rengali, Sambalpur City, Rairakhol, Boinda, Angul, Talcher Road, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Nirakarpur, Balugaon, Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Ichhapuram, Sompeta, Palasa, Naupada and Paralakhemundi between Rourkela and Gunupur.
