Bhubaneswar: A hardcore criminal Raghu Biswal belonging to the Rabi Rao gang was injured today morning in an encounter by the Commissionerate Police. According to sources, Raghu was wanted in a number of criminal cases in many police stations. Following a tip off regarding his movements, the Mancheswar Police and Special Squad members followed Raghu and his associate near the Balijatra Padia at the outskirts of the city. While they were chasing them, Raghu Biswal opened fire on the police teams. In return, the police team fired on Raghu in which he was injured. He has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. His accomplice has absconded from the place of incident. Police has recovered a 7.5 mm pistol from Raghu.
