Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today said that health screening will be conducted for the servitors and Biswakarma Maharanas (carpenters) of Puri Srimandir.
This has been informed by Chief Administrator of SJTA Dr. Krishan Kumar.
More than 150 Biswakarma Maharanas engaged in the construction of chariots for the Holy Trinity will go for health screening.
The carpenters will be accommodated at the Bhakta Nivas here and will be taken to Ratha Khala by bus.
Besides the Biswakarma Maharanas, health screening will also be conducted for the servitors of the Srimandir.
A proposal in this regard has been given to the servitors and Biswakarma Mahranas by the SJTA.
The construction of chariots for Lord Jagannath and His divine siblings – Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra for upcoming Rath Yatra began here today after getting approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The Ministry gave the approval on condition of strict adherence of COVID-19 lockdown regulations.
