Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in several parts of Odisha till May 2, according to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
The day temperature is likely to rise by 2 degrees Celsius in several places during the next 48 hours.
The intense heatwave conditions will continue in many places, particularly northern and west-interior parts of the State during the next 4-5 days, said IMD scientist Umashankar Dash.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar recorded the maximum day temperature of 44.6°C by 2.30 pm on Saturday, followed by Jharsuguda 43.6°C, Rourkela 42.5°C Chandbali 42.4°C Sambalpur 42.1°C, Hirakud 41.8°C, Balasore 41.7°C, Keonjhar: 41.5°C, Gopalpur 35.4°C, Puri: 34.7°C and Paradip: 33.6°C, as per the regional centre of the IMD.
