Bhubaneswar: Normal life came to a halt in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack as heavy rains lashed in the last 12 hours. Many places of coastal and interior districts of Odisha also received moderate to heavy rains last night. According to reports, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam and Kandhamal and Balasore districts received rainfall. The rains are continuing in the state due to norwester winds. In Bhubaneswar, many low laying areas including near Old town, Laxmisagar, Bomikhal etc saw water logging.
The Indian Meterological Department has issued Orange warning for lightning, thunderstorm and rain in nine districts today including Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Subarnapur and Boudh.
