Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued yellow warning for seven districts of Odisha for heavy rains in the next 24 hours. The Met has warned that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts. The Monsoon Trough at mean sea level continues to pass through Jaisalmer, Kota, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Balasore and thence eastwards to Northwest Bay of Bengal and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under its influence many places of coastal and interior Odisha along with northern Odisha districts. have received rainfall and the weather remains cloudy. The seven districts are likely to receive 70 to 110 MM rainfall. The condition will remain same till 13th of July.
During the current Monsoon season, Odisha has received 227 MM rains which is 24 percent less than the normal rain of 286 MM. Deogarh district has received the highest rainfall of 431 MM during this period.
