Sambalpur: Hirakud Dam will release season’s first flood waters on June 23.
The water level in the reservoir is increasing due to the rains in the upper catchment area.
Therefore, the dam authorities have decided to release the excess water from the reservoir.
After discharge, the water level in Mahanadi and branch rivers will rise. In view of this, the dam authorities have warned the public in advance.
