Cuttack: The historic Bali Yatra began here on Tuesday after the gap of almost two years.
The festival, which commemorates the rich maritime history of Odisha, was inaugurated by State Information & Public Relations Minister Pradeep Amat in presence of Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh and others.
The nine-day historic trade fair will be held in the Bali yatra ground on the banks of Mahanadi river.
The Cuttack district administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the festival.
This year around 1,400 stalls have been installed by more than 2,000 traders at the Bali Jatra ground.
Adequate security arrangements have been made by the Police Department for smooth conduct the mega event.
