Subarnapur: In a remarkable step, the Subarnapur district administration has started delivering of subsidised foodgrain to the homes of beneficiaries of the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The initiative has been taken in order to prevent deaths due to starvation as well as to ensure old and infirm PDS beneficiaries receive their due ration in a transparent manner with maximum ease, said district Collector Monisha Banerjee.
The doorstep delivery service has been introduced in Deulpadar and Sargaj GPs of Tarbha block in the district.
The district administration is planning to provide the same service in other areas where the PDS beneficiaries are facing problems in getting the ration items.
