Bhubaneswar: A house owner from Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district has earned praise from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his kindness of waiving off rent for his tenants in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
Md Imtiaz Khalifa of Rajgangpur has waived off rent for his five tenants, who have been hit hard due to the 21-day lockdown.
The house owner waived off rent for 21 days for his poor tenants and he has also decided to not to take rent if the lockdown is extended.
The kind-hearted move of Khalifa caught the attention of Odisha Chief Minister, who had earlier appealed to the landlords to be compassionate to poor and waive off or at least defer the rent by 3 months.

Khalifa who owns a garment store, has rented out his house at Idgah lane of Ward 18 to five persons who eke out living by driving vehicles, tailoring and selling balloons, according to reports.
