Bhubaneswar: The Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express on Saturday derailed at a level crossing near Bhadrak.
The train got derailed after hitting a bull at about 5.50 PM, as per East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources.
The two front wheels of the guard-cum-luggage van next to the engine derailed due to sudden application of brake despite which the train hit a bull. However, no casualty of passengers was reported in the incident.
Since there are double lines, it shouldn’t have any impact on traffic. We have a trained team to work at night. So there shouldn’t be any difficulties or delays in carrying out the operation, the ECoR stated.
