Hundreds of Hockey Lovers of Rourkela and Cuttack Thank CM Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: As the stage is set for the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023, the entire State is gripped under hockey fever. From Cuttack to Sundargarh, celebrations are going on everywhere. For the first time, Hockey World Cup is being organized in Sundargarh district, a nursery of hockey in the country. Along with this, Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, the world’s largest hockey stadium, has also been built in Rourkela. The inaugural match of the World Cup will be played there. So there has been a tremendous enthusiasm among all, especially the youth in Sundargarh district. Hundreds of youths from the district came to Bhubaneswar on bicycles today to express their gratitude to the Chief Minister for hosting the World Cup.

The Chief Minister thanked them for their efforts and sought everyone’s cooperation for the success of the mega sporting event in Rourkela.

Along with them, former Minister and MLA Pratap Jena and Raghunathpali MLA Subrat Tarai also met the Chief Minister and thanked him.

Similarly, the opening ceremony of the Hockey World Cup is being held in Cuttack tomorrow. A delegation headed by former MLA and Chairman of Cuttack Mahanagar Santi committee Prabhat Tripathi met the Chief Minister and thanked the CM for directly joining the historic city of Cuttack in hosting the Hockey World Cup.

The Chief Minister sought the cooperation of the people of Cuttack to organize the opening ceremony of the Hockey World Cup successfully.
