Kandhamal: The family of Ifu Mallik has been allotted a house under the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana by the Government of Odisha. Ifu Mallik, the poor medical student from a tribal family in Kandhamal district, will now have his own safe house. Earlier this week, the state government had said that it would bear all the medical expenses of Ifu.
Belonging to Bagramila village of Baliguda block in Kandhamal district, Ifu’s family has been given the work order for construction of the house by the local BDO. Recently Ifu had passed the NEET Examination this year and got enrolled in the Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College Koraput. But was struggling to arrange money for his studies. On getting information about Ifu’s plight, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced that the state government would bear all the study expenses of Ifu. The Odisha Government immediately sanctioned Rs 62,950 towards the first year study expenses of Ifu for pursuing MBBS.
