Bhubaneswar: Stepping up the steps to eliminate the brokers around the RTO office, the Central Enforcement Monitoring Committee (CEMC) today demolished illegal makeshifts located around the RTO-II in Chandrasekharpur area here in city
The move came after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had given a direction to the concerned authorities to keep the middlemen at bay in transport offices to stop them from harassing people.
The CEMC comprising officials and personnel of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Commissionerate Police carried out the demolition drive to remove unauthorised structures.
The Chief Minister earlier had directed authorities to make RTOs free of middlemen.
Notably, the CEMC on Monday demolished 66 sheds made up of tin and iron sheets around the RTO-I office.
