Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is step ahead to implement Digital Door Numbering(DDN) system in the Odisha’s capital city.
In this connection an agreement has been signed this evening by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
In order to facilitate smart numbering and an easy identification as well as avoid missing of holdings this system has been adopted by the civic body.
The agreement was signed between Bhubaneswar Municipal corporation as the first party and the service providing agency Navayuga Spatial Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Zipper Pvt. Ltd as the second party.
Every house hold in the entire city would be given an alphanumeric number. This is the first hand identification to locate identify and track the houses. Even it will be easy to find the house of a particular location. Even, un assessed houses can be put to assessment through this technology.
In order to prepare citizens adopting a smart system this uniform geo tagging system of numbering is a user-friendly approach in growing cities like Bhubaneswar, told Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhary.
The process will be started within 15 days and it will take about 150 days for establishing the survey by the agency. There will be a survey and proper documentation of entire process, told Deputy Commissioner, Revenue Srimanta Mishara.
He also added that though such process has been adopted by other cities in India but in few clusters of a city. Instead in Bhubaneswar this will cover entire 67 wards. In case of slum areas there might be some deviations and alternatives.
An amount of 3.97 crore will be spent in this numbering along with operation and maintenance. The contract has been made one year.
From BMC site Deputy Commissioner Srimanata Mishara signed the agreement as first party representative while Samarandra Kumar Sahoo, Asst. General Manager of Navayuga Spatial Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Zipper Pvt. Ltd signed it as the second party representative
