Puri: With less than two weeks left for the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, the making of chariots for the holy Trinity is underway at a great pace in the pilgrim city of Puri.
As many as 150 servitors including carpenters, roopakaras and blacksmiths have been working in two shifts at Ratha Khala, the traditional temple workshop, to complete the construction of the three huge chariots for the deities by June 22.
The annual car festival of the Trinity is scheduled to be held on June 23.
Meanwhile, a special treatment is underway for the effective healing of the deities, who have been unwell after Snana Purnima, a ritual bath with 108 pitchers of herbal and aromatic water and retired to the Anasara gruha (sick room).
