Pune: India thrashed visitors Sri Lanka by 78 runs in the third and final T20I at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Friday to win the series 2-0.
With this impressive victory, India are now unbeaten in 19 series (won 17, drawn two) across formats against Sri Lanka dating back to August 2008.
The match also witnessed Virat Kohli become the fastest batsman to score 11,000 runs in international cricket as captain (196 innings).
Earlier, riding on openers KL Rahul’s 54 and Dhawan’s 52, India put a challenging target of 202 for the visitors.
The first T20 in Guwahati had been called off due to dampness on the pitch.
