New Delhi: India has reported 5357 new Covid-19 infections and 11 new deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the country’s active case load moved up to 32,814 today. The total number of deaths due to Covid has reached 5,30,965 in the country. Yesterday, the positivity rate in India stood at 3.39 percent.
With the rising trend, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had on Saturday reviewed the situation and held meetings with officials and asked the states to stay alert. He also asked the states to stay prepared and keep the health facilities in ready mode. A nationwide mock drill is also planned tomorrow and Tuesday to assess emergency preparedness of the government and private hospitals in the country. On the other hand, Haryana, Puducherry and Kerala have made wearing of masks in public places compulsory.
