Indian company, Yorkshire county club to promote charity through cricket

West Yorkshire (England) : The Clean Slate Foundation, the CSR arm of Clean Slate Studioz — the first Indian company to hold naming rights for a sports property in the UK, and the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF), run by Yorkshire County Cricket Club, have come together to support communities across Yorkshire.

Clean Slate Studioz and Yorkshire County Cricket Club had on May 1 unveiled the Clean Slate Pavilion at the Headingley Cricket Ground and also decided to distribute free cricket kits among women and girls’ in Yorkshire to promote the sports among them.

The company, which is set to launch the world’s first female-first original content OTT streaming platform, is co-founded by Karnesh Ssharma, brother of actor Anushka Sharma, and Amreesh Chandra.

The new partnership will be using sports and cricket, in particular, to work in the fields of inclusiveness, diversity, women empowerment, education, health and well-being, participation, and heritage.

The basis of the partnership between Clean Slate Foundation and YCF would be to build and support the community in Yorkshire through the company’s base in West Yorkshire known as ‘Clean House’, the organisations said in a release on Thursday.

“The purpose of Clean House will be to jointly promote, build, and invest in the community through film, arts, sports, and education. Both charities would work with local councils to attract investment to realise the potential.” the release said.

“Will Saville, the Managing Director for YCF, said: “The potential of this partnership – with a vibrant Indian company that is conscious of its social impact – is an exciting step for Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. Clean Slate Foundation are champions of inclusivity, diversity, and equity and the new community-focused partnership will help us reach even more people in the community.”

Clean Slate Studioz founder Karnesh Sharma feels the values of the two organisations are aligned, saying: “At Clean Slate, we truly believe in visions for the future of Yorkshire Cricket. We are champions of new beginnings, buoyed by the values of inclusivity, diversity, and access to equal opportunity. This is what draws us to the work of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, who share these core principles.”
