India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 50 Lakh after 90,123 New Cases

New Delhi: The number of coronavirus cases in India crossed 50 lakh on Wednesday, after the country recorded 90,123 new cases in the 24 hours.

India’s coronavirus cases tally on September 16 surged to 50,20,360, which includes 9,95,933 active cases and 39,42,361 recoveries, according to the Health Ministry data.
With 1,290 additional deaths, the toll rose to 82,066.

Infections are growing faster in India than anywhere else in the world and the United States is the only nation worse affected.
India has the third highest deaths due to Covid-19 in the world, followed by the United States (195,765) and Brazil (133,199).
