India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 52-Lakh Mark with Single Day Spike of 96,424 New Cases

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally crossed 52-lakh mark on Friday after the detection of 96,424 new positive cases and 1174 fatalities in the 24 hours across the country.

The total caseload in the country now stands at 52,14,678 including 10,17,754 active cases and 84,372 deaths, informed the Union Health Ministry.

48.45% of the active cases of Covid-19 are concentrated in three states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Along with Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, these states contribute nearly 60% of the total active cases in the country, it added.

Globally, there are more than 30 million COVID-19 cases and 944,887 deaths, reveals Johns Hopkins University’s Covid-19 data.
