India’s COVID-19 Tally Crosses 60 Lakh-Mark with 82,170 New Cases, Death Toll Mounts to 95,542

New Delhi: India’s tally of coronavirus crossed 60 lakh-mark on Monday with a spike of 82,170 coronavirus cases and 1,039 deaths in 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry data stated.

India has now a total of 60,74,702 cases, including 9,62,640 active cases.

As many as 50,16,520 patients have recovered from the virus, while 95,542 lost the battle against the viral disease.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with a total of 13,39,232 cases including 35,571 deaths; followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 7,09,394 sample tests were conducted across the country in a single day on Sunday.

The country has tested 7,19,67,230 samples so far.
