Berhampur: October 16 is always a special day for the inmates of Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home (SSCCH) because it is the birthday of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Like every year, this year too, the Shraddha Sanjivani inmates celebrated the birthday of the Chief Minister with a host of purposeful activities inside their campus.
“With the support of our beloved Chief Minister, we are fighting both the Corona and HIV-AIDS. It is our gesture of love and affection to the Chief Minister by celebrating his birthday”, said the inmates of SSCCH, an institution providing shelter to orphans and the vulnerable children in Ganjam district since 2007.
The ardent children began the day with a special prayer for the Chief Minister wishing him good and long life in the service of the people of Odisha.
All 53 inmates of Shraddha Sanjivani greeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on his special day by putting up banners and meaningful messages inside their campus. The children have dedicated the day in campus cleaning and also planted saplings to celebrate the birthday of Naveen Patnaik following the COVID-19 guidelines.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken several initiatives in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the children of SSCCH and the development of this institution. Hence, the children get overjoyed celebrating the birthday of the CM, said Lokanath Mishra, one of the founding members of child care home.
The Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home was set up by the Ganjam District administration during the tenure of the then Collector VK Pandian, now the Secretary to CM (5T), at Gopalpur to give a new life to the destitute children.
With the support of Shraddha Sanjivani, the children, who are below the age of 18, are fighting the social stigma being associated with HIV.
At present, there are 53 inmates in the Child Care Home.
