Abu Dhabi: A much-needed win for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as they defeat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 15 runs. This was SRH’s first win of the campaign at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Delhi Capitals restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 162/4 in 20 overs. For SRH, David Warner (45) and Jonny Bairstow (53) came in and put on a good partnership helping the side with a good score.
Chasing a challenging total for victory, Delhi could only manage 147 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Rashid Khan finished with brilliant figures of three for 14 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed two wickets. Besides the duo, Khaleel Ahmed and T Natarajan also chipped in with a wicket each. For DC, opener Shikhar Dhawan top-scored with 34, while a subdued Rishabh Pant made 28 off 27 balls.
SRH open their account on the points table, jumping to sixth from their earlier last place, with one win and two losses. While DC, with two wins and a loss, do not slide from their top spot due to a superior net run rate, second-place Rajasthan Royals (RR) now can claim the top position with a game in hand.
